Weaver since 2018
The inspiration to weave with beads began when I visited my hometown Quito, Ecuador in my mid 20’s. Being back in my native land introduced me to a simpler way of living, humble hard working people, and street marketplaces unlike the shopping plazas back home. I would admire the beauty of these sweet indigenous women weaving away and all I wanted was to reconnect with my culture. I took action to teach myself and fell in love with the art instantly... as if it was in my dna all along - I simply had to remember.
I'm always challenging myself to try new skills in the world of hand crafts. This sense of curiosity started at a young age. I’ve found much joy in archery, painting, ceramics, metal smithing, leather tanning, flint napping and much more. This style of living has inspired my brand to convey meaning - to constantly ever - change and always strive to evolve. As I delve more into new experiences in my life, it transpires into my work. Each weaving is like it’s own poem, each telling a different story - stories of growth, change and adventure. The immense joy this creative medium brings me; to have utter freedom to fully express myself is indescribable - all I can do is hope that whomever supports me can feel the energy + love that is poured into each piece.
Aside from beadwork, my other passions are massage therapy and working with the land. My mission is to help others heal by ways of touch, teaching others how to grow their own food and teaching others healing arts. These passions stemmed from working with various farms in my mid 20’s, which taught me many teachings from the Land.
Stay tuned for future workshops!
